Timeless fall wedding at Maravilla Gardens

After a two year engagement and two wedding reschedules, Alli and Sam finally tied the knot surrounded by all of their friends and family at the beautiful Maravilla Gardens in Camarillo, CA. Their loved ones traveled from all over the country to celebrate these two and their sweet love. Despite all of the road blocks that were in their way, these two had what I can only describe as the perfect wedding. From the warm weather and sunny skies in November to the flawless execution of their timeline and the cooperation of their fun wedding party, they were able to truly enjoy their day and be present in every moment.

Their wedding day

Maravilla Gardens is such a wonderful venue to get married at. It’s all-in-one offering provides you with all the decor options you could dream of, beautiful, open areas to get ready for both partners, and a place to stay the night before if you want. Alli and Sam took advantage of all of these benefits and started their wedding day waking up in the beautiful rolling hills of Camarillo. From there, their wedding party slowly began to arrive and get ready for the day ahead of them. While Alli got ready in the main house with her talented hair and makeup artists, Sam hung out with his groomsmen around the corner in a private suite where he wouldn’t be able to see Alli before their first look.

Once everyone was dressed and ready, we took wedding party photos with the groomsmen and bridesmaids individually—making sure both of them had photos with the people they chose to be by their sides. Their wedding party was the right mix of fun while still being well behaved enough to snap some photos! With those formal photos out of the way, it was time for the first look.

When Alli and Sam originally hired me, they hadn’t been interested in doing a first look. But after some chatting, and two years of planning, they decided they wanted to do one! I took them down to where they would be having their cocktail hour later. There’s a beautiful fountain in the middle of the square and a picturesque backdrop of the hills making it both beautiful and intimate for their first look. Needless to say, there were tears.

After allowing them to have a few moments, we rejoined the group and took photos in front of their ceremony location, where Wild West Florals had worked magic with a dreamy whimsical maroon, cream, and pink wild floral display. We made quick work of the photos to make sure Alli and Sam had a moment to breathe before they walked down the aisle and shared their vows—this also gave time for Sam to reprint his vows after misplacing them!

Finally, the moment arrived. With loved ones looking on, Alli and Sam shared sweet, funny, and personal vows that truly captured their relationship and love for each other. There were laughs and sweet awes as these two said their ‘I dos’ and were finally married!

After that, the day is a blur of hugs, dancing, and sparklers! They had the sweetest reception first look and it was such a delight to see Alli discover her donut wall. Their wedding party didn’t disappoint when it came to the grand entrance, and there may have been some fireball involved. When we snuck away for golden hour photos, we could still hear the chatter and laughing of their friends and family in the background. It was a beautiful moment to take a break from all of the commotion and give them a second alone to breathe and celebrate the long-awaited day. Of course, the speeches were equally funny and sweet, and the dancing that followed was equally enthusiastic.

At the end of the evening, their guests gathered along Maravilla’s driveway holding sparklers and sending the couple off into the night!

It was simply put, perfect.
