How to make your pregnancy announcement photos special

In such unprecedented times with the coronavirus pandemic, we should be celebrating the big and little things that make life exciting and worthwhile. From drive-through graduations to virtual birthday parties, we are inventing a new normal while maintaining important connections with friends and family.

Making their pregnancy announcement photos meaningful & safe

And in the case of Molly + Kyle, they celebrated their exciting news with a socially distant pregnancy announcement photoshoot! Despite the entirety of their pregnancy being in quarantine, they’re making the best of a difficult situation and looking forward to their new baby making them first time parents.

In the safety of their own backyard at sunset, we broke out the cute little onesies and captured the beginning of their next big adventure: Parenthood. Of course, their first baby had to make an appearance! Daisy, their two year old Australian Shepherd, bounded into the photos and was quickly scooped up. It was only fitting to pull out the onesie that read, “Every dog needs a baby,” and snap a few shots! She’s going to make an amazing big sister!

I cannot wait for their maternity shoot in September! It’s photoshoots like this pregnancy announcement that give me hope that all will be right with the world again one day.

How you can make your photos unique too

Want to make your pregnancy announcement photos special like Molly + Kyle’s golden hour pregnancy announcement photos? Here are a few things you should definitely do!

  • Incorporate your pets! Whether you and your boo have a dog or cat or any other fluffy pet, snap a few photos with them. They were your first baby after all!

  • Bring a cute onesie or booties. C’mon, we all know you already bought some in your excitement of learning you were expecting!

  • Include your sonogram. Somehow, sonograms just make the pregnancy seem all the more real and happening! Plus, it’s your baby’s first photo!

  • Build a Pinterest vision board. What do you want to wear? What shots do you want to get? What kind of vibe do you want to have? And then share it with your photographer or find a photographer based off of those images.

  • Pick a location that is special to you and your boo. For Molly + Kyle, it was their beautifully tropical backyard that they love to hangout with friends in. For you, it may be where you fell in love or got engaged or inside your beautiful home. Choose a spot that feels like you and your relationship.

Cheers,
Emma
